I choked on the grapes on New Year's Eve!
I don't know about you, but it happens to me every single year.
In our family, we follow that Latinx tradition of eating 12 grapes right as the clock turns 12:00. The idea is that you eat one grape for each month of the year and make a wish or goal or have a thought about what you hope to accomplish in the next year. Or at least that's how we've been practicing the tradition.
So this year, like every year I started to feel super emotional. The tears started to fill my ojitos , and I could feel the knot in my throat get bigger and bigger. Instead of thinking of 2018, I was contemplating how amazingly crazy 2017 was for us.
Our baby girl Soph was born two weeks after we moved to a new state. My husband got his dream job and I got to open my dream company with my sister! And then to top it off, we successfully announced one of our most amazing collaborations ever with renaissance woman, artist, and designer Crystal Dominguez from Crystal Domi Design.
2017 had a ton of ups and downs, to say the least (I mean, I successfully potty trained Vince while still taking care of a newborn), but by far one of my favorite things was finding the community I have grown to love when I opened Vince and Soph Apparel. It allowed this SAHM (stay at home mom) to feel accomplished like I was contributing to my family and my community, and to make some amazing friends!
I'd like to take this moment to let you know how very much you mean to me. Thank you for your support, thank you for your encouragement and thank you for all the blessings you've brought to my family! I hope and wish for many, many, many bendiciones for you and your family in 2018!
